“Whoa. Easy there, you should watch where you’re going.”
“Sorry, sir.” And then she realised it was him, the blue-eyed stranger.
“Please, call me Lakyn. Sir makes me feel so old,” he chuckled.
“Sorry, Professor Lakyn.”
“That’s what my other students call me, but please, I’d prefer it if you call me Lakyn, Scarlett.” He grinned, and it made Scarlett feel uneasy. Was he hitting on her?
“But I’m a student, Professor Lakyn. Now if you will excuse me, I’m going to be late for lunch, someone just struck the gong.”
Three strikes of the gong meant punishments were going to be handed out. At Blackbell, one of the most important rules was never to be late.
“I would hate for you to be punished. I’ll see you in the dining room.” He patted her on the back and retreated up the stairs she had just come down. He seemed different in person than he appeared on TV, but still had the same cocky, over- confident attitude. This was Scarlett’s second run-in with Lakyn Blackbell in one day, and she didn’t want there to be a third. He made her feel uneasy, and she was unsure why.

Excerpt:

Jacob pressed his lips to Kat’s cool forehead.
“Look after her while I’m gone,” he told the young Michaelite nun who had taken over the shift of guarding Kat’s body. He thought she looked to be about eighteen.
“I will, sir. Don’t you worry, she’s in good hands,” she said.
“You really don’t have to call me sir. I told you before to call me Jacob,” he said, hoping he didn’t sound as impatient as he felt.
“Sorry s…” she began, but corrected herself when he shot her a quick look, “Jacob.” He had the feeling that she was forever apologising for nothing.
“Call me if anything happens, okay? Anything at all.” He turned to exit the crypt.
“Okay, I will. And Jacob?”
“Yes?”
“She’ll be fine. Good luck.”
“Thanks. Oh, I didn’t catch your name before.”
“It’s Cecilia,” she told him with a sweet smile. It was a shame, he thought, that she had dedicated her life to the Michaelites. She would have had a line of guys around the block waiting for her. Then Jacob paused.
“Cecilia.”
“Yes?”
“No. That was Kat’s middle name. Is Kat’s middle name…”
Cecilia gave him a small smile. “Then I will take extra special care of her.”
“Thank you, Cecilia.” And he smiled at her once more before unfurling his snowy wings and lifting himself into the dusk sky.

Review:
Kat’s soul is held captive by the Lucifites who are using her as a bargaining chip to blackmail Jacob. They send Jacob on an impossible mission to the Michaelite Headquarters and retrieve the Golden Chalice of Michael. He must also do this alone. Dyston and Scarlett do their best to help him without the Lucifites knowing about it. Soon things become more complicated as Jacob does everything in his power, even a few things that he regrets, to find a way to get Kat’s soul without having to hand over the Chalice.
Lakyn has return to the Lucifites. Scarlett is the last remaining half archangel left and the Chalice can hurt her, so Jacob finds a way to fool Lakyn into thinking he has the real Chalice. However, things start to go array when someone Lakyn has trusted to deliver the Chalice from Jacob to him, has their own agenda for Jacob and the Chalice. So Jacob, Dyston, Scarlett and Beth (Dyston’s and Lykyn’s mother) embark on a journey of twist and turns to accomplish returning Kat’s soul to her body. Along the way, new truths are revealed and revenge brings about an unexpected circumstance.
A rebellion is brewing in both Nephilim and Human race. Lines will be drawn. Sides will be picked. But be careful who you think is on which side. There are secret agendas among the Nephilim that have yet to be revealed. You might think you have it all figure out but L.L. Hunter does a good job of throwing a wrench into you thinking with surprises around every corner.

Book 3: The Chronicles of Silver and Gold

Blurb

Waking up on her twenty- second birthday alone wasn’t something Scarlett had in mind. Neither had she planned Dyston’s departure from her life so soon.
When she receives a mysterious note from him telling her to track down Rachael, little did she know the journey it would lead her on.
Dyston’s note told her to let Rachael help her reveal things she didn’t know about her origins, but what she sees on her journey through time could change everything, including her fate.
In the thrilling third book of the Legend of the Archangel series, Scarlett learns that knowledge is power, especially when it comes to changing the fate of the world.

Excerpt:

“Well, well, if it isn’t my favourite fiery vixen. Back for another round?” Lakyn sat alone on the dais, behind a desk typing away on his laptop. No one else was around. Scarlett swallowed and approached the dais.
“Bite me.”
His smirk widened. “Not so innocent now, are we?”
“I am not as vulnerable as you might think.”
“I hate to break it to you, princess, but aren’t you all alone in a big room, with little ol’ me?”
Scarlett would not let him get the better of her. She decided to change the subject.
“I am not here to see you. I’m actually here to see Rachael.”
She had done it, touched his kryptonite. He froze, took off his black-framed reading glasses (she secretly wished Dyston wore glasses) and placed them on top of his closed laptop. Then he turned his icy blues on her.

Review:
I don't even know where to start.I guess I'll start at the beginning but I'm still reeling from the ending. The Chronicles of Silver and Gold flowed very well.I read in one sitting,I kept telling myself,"ok after this chapter I'm going to bed" but there was so much continuous suspense that I kept reading and the next thing I knew BAM it ended.I wanted to scream,"no,no I need more".Things are happening and time is crucial to the outcome of the situation. Then there's this whole mystery about who is really on what side.I'm so confused at who's the actual enemy and has an evil plot in the making and who is the ones trying to save the Angel and human race.Of course that's the point of the author's plot,to keep us guessing. There were a few times I wanted to just jump in the book and save the day because it looked like one of our characters were not going to escape the bind they got themselves in.There are few secrets revealed and more to come in the next book.I became fascinated with series from the beginning but now I feel like I'm invested into the lives of the characters and I have to see them through their journey til the end.
Dyston believes he's turning dark because his dad injected him and Lakyn with demon blood when they were young. So he's takes off "to protect Scarlett from himself".Scarlett is devastated until she find a note from Dyston telling her to find Rachael to help her learn of her origin. What Scarlett finds sends her on a journey of her own.But soon trouble starts to brew for all their group of friends and no they're on a race against the clock to save the ones in trouble or going down the wrong path.Love will be tested, secrets revealed, enemies emerge, and lives turned upside down. There's an impending war on the horizon and lines are being drawn and sides are being chosen.
